Revd Pamela Ward

CHAIR

After a first degree from Edinburgh in English and Latin Literature, I trained for the Congregational Ministry at Northern College in Manchester where I obtained a BD degree. I was ordained into the Congregational Ministry in 1972 and became a URC Minister three months later when the URC was formed. I served in pastorates in Hull, Leeds, Birmingham and rural Northumberland. Since retirement in 2012, I have lived in Clitheroe , where I grew up, and I worship at the URC there.

Over the years I have served on, chaired, and acted as secretary to, many committees at all levels of the URC, particularly finance committees. I was chair of the Finance Committee of Northern College Governors, and chair of the URC's National Maintenance of Ministry Committee. I have been a trustee of C and G since 2013 and was appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees in 2019.

I live with my two dogs; exercising them keeps me active. I have always been involved with choirs or instrumental ensembles. I play the organ at my church once a month, and lead worship there and elsewhere on a regular basis. I am also involved with our local food bank.
